What the SD-4020 Does
The SD-4020 is a jet internal-circulation heat shrink packing machine — a shrink tunnel. It is the stage after the wrap: hot air circulates inside the tunnel and tightens the film around the roll or pack. It does not wrap; it shrinks. The SD-4020 is the economy version of this tunnel, built for plants where budget comes first and floor heat is acceptable.

Where It Fits on the Line
The SD-4020 sits after any wrapper that outputs a film-covered roll or pack:
Wrapper (SD-77HM / SD-920HM / SD-TB1020 / SD-1060 / SD-BL450) → SD-4020 shrink tunnel → labeling → case erecting and sealing → palletizing.
Any of those wrappers can pair with the SD-4020 or the SD-4522. Pick the tunnel by budget and floor temperature, not by wrapper brand.

Applications
The SD-4020 is not a standalone machine. It is the tunnel stage of a packing line, sold and commissioned together with the wrapper in front of it. That is how we supply it: you pick the wrapper for your product, and the tunnel comes sized to match.
What goes through it in real lines:
- Electrical tape rolls — single-roll packs from the SD-60SS or SD-77HM, multi-roll packs from the SD-TB1020
- Stationery and office tape in small poly bags
- Small boxes, books, and flat paper goods wrapped in POF or PVC film
The test is simple: if the wrapper can close film around the product, the SD-4020 can shrink it. Send us your largest pack size and we confirm the tunnel fits before you order.
SD-4020 or SD-4522
Both are the same machine type and name — a jet internal-circulation shrink tunnel. They differ in configuration and cost:
| Item | SD-4020 | SD-4522 |
|---|---|---|
| Position | Economy | Energy-saving |
| Frequency conversion | Single | Dual |
| Stable power | 9 kW | 6 kW |
| Insulation cotton | No | Yes |
| Floor temperature | Higher | Lower |
| Tunnel size (W*H) | 350*150mm | 420*200mm |
| Price | Lower | Higher |
Choose the SD-4020 when budget is the priority and the installer accepts a warmer floor. Choose the SD-4522 when you need the slightly larger tunnel, lower running power, and a cooler floor — and the budget allows it.
Before You Specify
CE certification and light-curtain guarding are standard for export lines.
Video-guided remote installation: set up the same day, 1–3 days commissioning, no costly on-site trip.
A Malaysian customer reported 20% more output, 30% lower labor cost, and 19% fewer defects after replacing hand packing (measured against their own manual baseline).
FAQ
Does the SD-4020 wrap the roll?
No. It only shrinks film that a wrapper has already applied. Pair it with a wrapper, not instead of one.
What film does it take?
POF, PVC, and PE shrink film all run. Film choice follows the product, not the tunnel.
Why would I pay more for the SD-4522?
Dual frequency conversion and insulation drop stable power from 9 kW to 6 kW and keep the floor cooler. Over shift hours that pays back where power is expensive.
My power supply is not 380V. Can you still supply?
Yes. We ship to different markets with different supply standards. Tell us your local voltage when you request a quote and we confirm the configuration before the machine leaves the factory.
How long to install?
Same-day setup, 1–3 days commissioning over video. Send your wrapper model and line speed for a matched tunnel size.
