What the SD-77HM Does

The SD-77HM is a single-roll heat shrink packaging machine built for one job: wrap a finished tape roll in shrink film with a paper card, then shrink it tight. It runs one roll at a time, automatically. The point is a clean, labeled, retail-ready roll without an operator standing at the line folding film by hand. For a 76 mm core roll that ships as a single unit, this is the packaging cell.

Where It Fits on the Line

A tape roll leaves the slitting and rewinding stage as a bare roll. Before it ships it needs film and card protection. The SD-77HM sits at that packaging step:

Jumbo roll → rewinding and slitting → SD-77HM (film + card + shrink) → column sleeve shrink (SD-1060 + SD-4522) or other pack forms → labeling → case erecting and sealing → palletizing.

When your rolls are 76 mm ID and ship one at a time, the SD-77HM is the machine at that handoff. Pair it with a SD-4522 or SD-4020 shrink tunnel when line volume pushes past a single wrapper.

Applications

PVC electrical tape, insulating tape, and other 76 mm ID industrial tape rolls that ship as single retail units. The 76 mm core is the common size for thicker industrial and electrical tapes, which is exactly the roll the SD-77HM is built around.

SD-77HM, SD-60SS, or SD-920HM

Core diameter decides first, then output shape:

• 38–42 mm core (electrical tape common size) → SD-60SS, 0–65 rolls/min.
• 76 mm core only → SD-77HM, 0–55 rolls/min.
• 76 mm core, also want 56/38 mm or multi-roll packs → SD-920HM, 0–50 packs/min, semi-auto.

The SD-77HM and SD-60SS are not a high-low pair. They split by core size. Do not pick the SD-77HM expecting higher output than the SD-60SS — its rated speed is lower. The choice is core diameter, not “better machine”.

Before You Specify

• CE certification and light-curtain guarding are standard. Both are required for export lines and non-negotiable.
• Video-guided remote installation: the machine is set up the same day, with 1–3 days of commissioning before full production. No costly on-site trip.

FAQ

Can the SD-77HM run 38 mm core tape?
No. The mandrel is built for 76 mm ID. For 38–42 mm core tape use the SD-60SS.

What film thickness should I use?
15–25 micron shrink film is typical for single tape rolls. Thinner film saves cost; thicker film resists puncture in transit.

Does it need a separate shrink tunnel?
The SD-77HM performs the shrink in-line. Add an SD-4522 or SD-4020 tunnel when a single wrapper becomes the bottleneck on a higher-volume line.

How long does installation take?
Same-day setup, 1–3 days commissioning over video. Send us your roll diameter, finished width, and daily volume and we will size the line.
