What the SD-TB1020 Does
The SD-TB1020 is a fully automatic cuff-type sleeve film packing machine for tape. It groups several rolls into one pack â a towel pack (also called a cuff pack) â and wraps them in shrink film automatically. It handles multiple rolls per pack, not one. It is the economy model for multi-roll packing: full automation at a lower price point than the semi-auto alternative.
Where It Fits on the Line
When tape ships as a multi-roll pack rather than a single roll, the SD-TB1020 is the packing cell:
Jumbo roll â rewinding and slitting â SD-TB1020 (multi-roll towel pack) â shrink tunnel (SD-4522 or SD-4020) â labeling â case erecting and sealing â palletizing.
A towel pack is what most bulk and wholesale buyers expect: several rolls held together in one film pack. The SD-TB1020 feeds straight into a SD-4522 or SD-4020 tunnel to finish the shrink.

Applications
Multi-roll packs of tape for wholesale and bulk distribution â the towel pack format that holds several rolls in one film wrap. The SD-TB1020 is the low-cost way to automate that pack when volume does not justify a higher-spec machine.
SD-TB1020 vs SD-920HM
Both can produce multi-roll packs, but they sit at different points:
- SD-TB1020 â fully automatic, multi-roll towel pack only, economy model. Lower purchase price, built for the towel-pack format at volume.
- SD-920HM â semi-auto, handles single-roll or multi-roll packs, built around 76 mm ID (56 mm and 38 mm also run, not a hard limit), and gives a better pack finish than the SD-TB1020. Higher spec, more flexible on pack shape.
Choose the SD-TB1020 when you pack towel packs in volume and want full automation at the lowest cost. Choose the SD-920HM when pack finish matters more or you also run single-roll packs and mixed core sizes.

Common Questions
Can the SD-TB1020 pack a single roll?
